LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE

All the medicine in the world can’t compete with natures own pharmacy. This is especially so when it comes to chronic lifestyle diseases like diabetes, thyroid, PCOD etc.

Let food be thy medicine. Let food heal you and treat you and nurture you. The closer to nature it is, the more helpful it is for your body.

DO YOU KNOW WHY GREEN VEGGIES

Every child has heard their mom asking them to eat their veggies!!
And as you grow up you hear a “whole” lot about drinking green smoothies and green juices and green veggies. What’s the fuss behind all this?

Well green veggies have certain phytochemicals like sulphoraphane, isocyanatea and indoles which are anti carcinogenic and are highly detoxifying for the body. When the body uses up energy to fight the toxins within , it has less energy to help you have good digestion, a better immune system, a healthy reproductive system or to help you even be “happy”.

EAT FRESH FOOD

Sometimes it’s best to not follow the latest trends and listen to your grandma! Cook fresh and eat fresh:) Sometimes the simplest things may not appeal to you but as someone who has “been there” “done that” hope that you won’t make the same mistake!
Forget fast food, forget the microwave, forget the quick fix packages, learn to feed your body what it needs. Simple as it sounds, it is one of the most difficult things (because our mind is bombarded with ads, media plugging various things and images of everything fast is supposed to be good for your efficiency) So, the joke is on you:)
Eat fresh, eat local.

IS NATURAL AND ORGANIC FOOD IMPORTANT FOR YOUR HEALTH?

Your body is a conscious living breathing organism. It will take on the vibrancy of whatever is fed to it. If fresh lively vibrant food is fed, you will feel vibrant and alive. When old, stale or pre-packaged food is fed, where the freshness quotient is low or zero, then it will impart the qualities of lethargy and fatigue to your body. Sometimes, such packaged food is eaten to satisfy the tongue or taste buds but it won’t leave the body feeling energetic or vibrant for a long time. This is why any long term efforts at wellness need to focus on the “naturalness” of the food you consume. The more “natural” your food, the more the body will start healing and getting into harmony with nature. The more you live your life in harmony with nature, the more peace, joy, healing kindness and happiness starts permeating your life. What do I mean by “natural” –  Natural in my universe is anything that grows in nature without the use of fertilisers pesticides and chemicals – Something that is not modified in any way from its original form coming from the earth.

Key takeaway: Every molecule of the item you consume is going to affect every cell of your body. Be sure of that. If you are very young (teens, 20’s), just the bountiful energy of youth will make you unaware of the impact of the food you consume. Yet as you hit your 30’s, 40’s or 50’s the effects of what you eat start slowly peeping out.
MAKE CONSCIOUS CHOICES.   EVERY CHOICE AFFECTS YOUR BODY AND MPACTS YOUR HEALING JOURNEY. BE KIND TO YOUR BODY TOO 🙂

HEALING YOURSELF IS ACTUALLY QUITE SIMPLE! EAT GOOD FEEL GOOD!

If you pause and think about it, your body as a baby of 1 month and a baby of 6 months had only one input, daily food. As food was given the body grew. So it is evident that your body is composed of the food you eat. So many people have eaten not so healthy food. It’s ok. It happens to the best of us. That late night pizza, the burger on the run, the fast food nuggets, the cola drinks, the Oreo cookies, the chips, the tater tots…all of us know those things.

Yet the beauty of the human body is that it is an extraordinary bio computer. It changes itself based on the input.

So start today. Eat good and feel good. And see the results.
