START YOUR JOURNEY WITH HAPPY HORMONES

Did you know that the current epidemic worldwide of women having hormonal imbalances is related in some part to the quality of food consumed?

Teach your daughters to have awareness about the relationship between food, exercise and health. Engage them in cooking, have them meal prep and let them enjoy fresh wholesome food. They will mimic you unknowingly. Set a positive example. Be the role model. A happier person has higher productivity and uplifts the work environment for others. Just remember Happy hormones translate to a happier you!

WHAT AFFECTS YOUR HORMONES

Did you know that your hormone levels can be affected by the food you eat? Did you know that the foods you choose, the pans in which you cook, the boxes in which you store your food, the way you store your water …. the shampoos, moisturisers, creams, cleansers you use, the chemicals you use, all have an impact on your hormones! This means that your monthly cycle, your ovaries, breasts, are all impacted as your hormones go haywire.

These chemicals also affect your thyroid which is the most sensitive gland in your body.

ARE YOU VEGAN/VEGETARIAN HAVING HORMONE ISSUES

Being a vegan or vegetarian is amazing and it’s a personal choice! Yet it’s important to make sure your diet provides everything in balance to what your specific body needs. For this, you need to learn to “listen” honestly to your own body’s signals.

And quite often, one may land up relying unknowingly on soy or corn or sugar or processed foods! If you do have one or more of these daily, you may find yourself laden with hormone issues after some time. Read that again 🙂

While everyone’s body is different, items like soy have been known to increase a hormone called estrogen which creates havoc over time leading to many issues including deprived sleep, periods not arriving on time, excess body weight and a host of other issues depending on your medical history.

I used to drink soy milk and almond milk thinking I’m leading an amazing healthy lifestyle… but both of these were GOITROGENS. ….and they eventually created a severe thyroid problem!!
So just be aware. Take care of “you”. Be your own advocate.

The medical system globally is no longer working solely for your wellbeing. It is a big business now. So if something very simple and inexpensive may help you, it’s possible that you won’t be told about it.

Empower yourself. Educate yourself. Take charge of your life, your health, your wellbeing.

In subsequent posts we will address the effect of sugar, corn and processed foods too on your body.

SOY CASUES HORMONAL IMBALANCES

Did you know that once food becomes a business, its quality goes down dramatically in order for big companies to make huge profits? So who suffers? You.
Soy is one of those ingredients that has been added into millions of food products mainly to reduce cost. Soy is so widely used that it is genetically modified and added as an emulsifier into almost every bread, cake, chocolate or pastry. Consumption of soy is linked to increase of oestrogen’s in the body which disturbs the hormonal balance. When hormones are out of balance any number of things can happen, most prevalent of which is that your menstrual cycle goes out of whack. Its no surprise then that millions of young women around the world are suffering from an irregular menstrual cycle.
