So follow your passion, be true to yourself, engage in what gives you true joy (praise from others is not a criterion here…but what gives actual satisfaction to your soul is the key)…and then..whatever you do..do it with passion and joy…follow through on every detail…and greatness will be embossed under your name!

Remember it’s not about being a flash in the pan. Its about consistency, persistence, patience, follow through, overcoming apparent failures, increasing courage within, letting go perfectionism, paying attention to detail, and emerging victorious. It applies to creating a successful start up …. as much as it applies to improving your health meticulously … cell by cell:)

EVERY STEP COUNTS!

Every step counts! Big vision. Small consistent steps. Daily. Keep your eye on the goal. And keep making headway. Ever so small. Ever so tiny. Yet all consistent. All dots in a straight line.

Don’t get overwhelmed by your large goals, your amazing vision, your desire to have it all.
You caaaaaaaan. Nothing is as limiting as your own limiting beliefs. Your ideas of What is possible and what’s not. Your narrow image of yourself. Knock all your limiting beliefs down. Dissolve every one of them. Rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of limitation.

Let no one tell you what you can and cant do. Let no one decide for you. Let no one overshadow you with fear. Be fearless. All the courage in the world is within you. Dig deep. Find it. You caaaaaan do anything. Believe it.

Take daily consistent steps. Be present. Watch how you spend your day. Watch what thoughts you allow to take root in your being. Knock every negative thought out. Believe. Believe in yourself. Totally. Completely.

YOU CAN DO IT. You can achieve every huge goal and every huge dream that you have the courage to dream. Go for it!

SILENT TIME

Westernisation and excessive thinking /talking have taken over almost all cultures around the world. While talking is critical for clear communication, yet when it comes to creativity, creative solutions, new breakthroughs, silence is golden!

Notice how Einstein was sharp and noticed that his silent swim gave him the answers – that all the “thinking” did not!  Great lesson for all of us. We all tend to over think our way into a problem. Staying silent, reducing and eliminating mental clutter allow the infinite source of all things – to come forefront – and bring a solution that none of us can imagine.

As any great music composer, dancer, singer, artist or inventor- will share that -the really new – totally creative solutions- come from “somewhere else”. Sports people call it “being in the zone”. Dancers say, they excel, when the dance is there but the dancer is not! Great masterpieces are made, when the painting is happening but the painters ego/mind becomes non-existent These are the secrets of creativity.

So if you want your child to be more creative, allow them more free time- to bond with nature, to run, dance, and swim, without thoughts or conditions imposed on them. By and by you will see a child who is naturally more creative.

Too many boundaries and too many conditions stifle creativity. Since conditions are made of thought. Thought stifles “the infinite from flowing through”

DIG DEEP WITHIN

Persistence, perseverance, hard work, fearlessness, courage, strength all with a certain grace and the ability to never take no for an answer! Wow! What an inspiring combination! May we all dig deep and find each of these within us today- and everyday!


MIND OVER MATTER

There is a complex connection between the health of our minds, bodies and spirit. As they say: many excellent athletes first imagined they won the race in their “mind” over and over and eventually won it on the race track. So, the idea of “mind over matter’ is an ancient one.

Since the thyroid gland sits in the throat, there is a belief that those with thyroid issues may have difficulty expressing themselves. Sometimes we worry or carry burdens that aren’t really ours to carry. Sometimes we put ourselves last over and over again (thinking we are “sacrificing” for the greater good but eventually become resentful?) Are you a person whose mind is full of ideas of “I should have done x, y, z”? I should have done that/be that/ thought better/not say that. Sometimes we do this unknowingly at the cost of being true to ourselves. Sometimes We are afraid of what others will say? Even though I was a public speaker since childhood with tremendous confidence, I never knew that I could feel some of the above emotions. So sitting silently with yourself to see what makes you blossom or what makes you function “off peak” is key. It’s not about shouting our feelings everywhere, its more about understanding ourselves, un-peeling our own layers, so we are at peace within. Self discovery is the mantra.

Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain. Wow! A simple thing like a good laugh can clear stress, improve your immunity, create healthy relationships and improve your mood.

The Mayo Clinic says “When it comes to relieving stress, more giggles and guffaws are just what the doctor ordered.”

Take yourself less seriously. Relax. Take a chill pill. Everything will work out. Your health relies heavily on your mind. Laugh and relax the tension. Relax the mind. Soothe those nerves. Be happy.


TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

How easy it is to roll all over your wounds and feel sorry for yourself. That’s thinking like a victim. No one can get you out of this mentality except YOU Yourself. Do you know what all the doctors and coaches and self help gurus can give you? They can only give you ideas on how to heal yourself physically and mentally. But many people unknowingly are in love with their victim selves. The victim has a “story” how they have been wronged. How they have been misunderstood. How they have been mistreated. While it’s all totally and completely true, and everyone has empathy for that situation, it’s of NO use to go on regurgitating it and RELIVING it. Whatever you think of over and over, IT HAPPENS! As they say: Think Happens!

It’s almost like saying that you ate at a cafe and got food poisoning. You threw up. You had fever. You were sick. You lay in bed. And slowly with lots of probiotics and other stuff you recovered… Well, after that bad experience, would you GO ON going back to that cafe and eating the rotten food? NO! In the same way, living in the past, thinking of the past, repeating your PAST story is like choosing poisoned food over and over again.

If you want a new life, health or wealth or mind wise, choose a new vision for yourself. Don’t repeat the past mistakes. Don’t eat the poisoned food. Don’t think those toxic thoughts. Instead think of a glorious you, a magnificent you, a bright positive you and TAKE ACTIONABLE STEPS to live that life from this moment on.

The greatest spiritual teachers said “God helps those who help themselves” Yes. You need to start working on YOU.

Don’t make excuses. “My husband eats at midnight so I have to eat with him and hence I’m overweight.” This is what one of my clients told me. Well, we need to learn strategies by which your hubby feels loved and supported without you throwing your health down the drain eating at midnight daily. So, let’s not make any excuses. You are responsible for YOU. All others are supporting characters in the play called LIFE, YOU are center stage. Don’t make your life a miserable drama. Very few people like to watch tragedies ALL the time, all of the year. Including you. Make today about YOU.

TAKE ACTION

Putting into practise every ounce of what we learn is way more important than collecting a lot of information and practicing nothing. 

Knowledge is not power.

Putting knowledge into action is potent power.

Try to recall how many healthy practices you already know. How many are you putting into practice?

Time to introspect! Are you truly practicing being positive, what are your inner beliefs? How do you act them out? How do you sabotage yourself?

Love yourself enough to do the best for yourself. Are you taking the highest most positive action for yourself? Time to reflect.

SEE THE GLASS HALF FULL

Many of you may be surprised to know that while working with cancer patients who have the intense desire to recover without chemo, besides diet and mindset, we do a lot of work on belief systems. And it’s something that the individual has to be committed to – to change permanently. Often when physiology changes, good nutrition is provided and belief systems change, self image changes, internal limitations are deleted and a spontaneous healing occurs.

So don’t wait for something drastic to happen, to propel you to change your mindset. Be positive now. See the glass half full. Appreciate all that the universe gives you. Thank those that help you. Don’t take anyone for granted. Give the body the gift of movement. Give the mind the gift of kindness. Give your soul the gift of silence. Blessings are bound to come!

PATIENCE…

Patience is a virtue worth developing!! Nature is the ultimate teacher. Watch how slowly and steadily the seed gives out a sprout and then a leaf and then a bud and then a flower and eventually a fruit! In the same way, keep making progressive holistic health changes and slowly steadily you will find a wonderful vibrant healthier “you” emerging! You can do it!

SIMPLICITY

Often we are bound by antiquated ideas of health. Like having low fat milk, low fat cheese, low fat anything. Many people feel that this will make them leaner. Quite the contrary!!

Bringing wellbeing back to your life is as simple as going back 500 years and picking up the key golden nuggets of how harmoniously man lived with nature. Many people reading this may roll up their eyes. Because we pride ourselves on being a technologically advanced society. However it is amusing that we have become technologically advanced at the cost of lower wellbeing, greater stress and the lowest happiness rates in the history of the world.

However those on the leading edge of health and wellbeing know that staying true to our roots (eat local) and finding ways to live in simplicity and harmony with nature, give the best results in terms of health, happiness and wellbeing. More and more we are finding that those who follow a lifestyle in sync with circadian rhythms heal faster and more permanently. Lifestyle change is a central part of any holistic healing program worth its salt!


STEP BACK

Did you know that all great inventions came after many failures? Did you know that once we fail we develop a certain distance from the problem we are trying to solve?

And inevitably once there is distance from anything or anyone, we bring that attention back to ourselves. Interestingly at this juncture, when we have left “chewing endlessly” on the problem, something miraculous happens. A creative solution appears on the screen of our minds! Viola!! The entire struggle did not yield a solution which a little bit of distance did!!

So do step back, from whatever you are doing today and give yourself a bit of self care. When the mind is free…suddenly new solutions will arise. This is the mystery and this is the joy!

Interestingly, when I was in high school and studying hard for an exam, my mother who was a psychologist, always said, never cram till the last minute! Study everything a day before and give your brain a rest 18 hours before the exam. Lightly revise, that’s it. And she was right. That little bit of space right before the exam, allowed everything to mix and settle in a way that our conscious minds cannot fathom. Try some self care today!

THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS

Are you one of those people who work 22 out of 24 hours? And feel you “have” to do that to excel at what you do?

If yes, have you heard of people who overwork their minds and bodies and land up with a weak immune system? Did you know that stress affects your immune system? Did you know that the body does not know fact from fiction? Whatever you think, the cells align with those thoughts. Whether those thoughts are true or not. So be alert. Be kind to your mind. Be kind to your body.

Think happy thoughts. Feel happy feelings. This creates a sense of spaciousness within you. Notice. Observe. Observe how when you think happy thoughts your mind and body relaxes.

Think of health as a state of harmony. When a type A person runs behind any accomplishment they give a message to their cells that this is a do or die situation. So the cells all rev up to help overcome this perceived crisis. This all works perfectly if we have a crisis once in a while … when every cell in the body does its best to help you out. However think of those of us looking endlessly for external validation? Then every day is a kind of crisis because the need to succeed daily is at a crescendo… so the cells are constantly straining to deliver their best. And what happens if you overstrain anything? It breaks. It stops. It needs a pause. It’s like going on a 100 meter sprint all day long. It will exhaust you. So take care now. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Or All stress and no play makes Jill a weak girl. Make sure you are neither Jack nor Jill in this story!

BE KIND TO YOURSELF

Have you ever noticed that people who are kind to themselves are kind to others. Many of us feel that if one is kind to others but rough on themselves. It’s fine. …..It’s not!

It’s like saying that a boat with a hole can help save others! It can’t. If you are kind to yourself you will be kind to others, that’s how it works. I’m not saying be selfish. I’m talking about understanding and compassion. When we have compassion towards ourselves we naturally extend that to everyone else.

Those who have been raised in very rigid backgrounds know that we are raised to feel very proud of being rigid with ourselves. Yet in the long run this wears you out. And the only thing that wins every time is kindness. Kindness towards oneself and kindness towards others.

This is a great tip for all parents too. Kids learn what they SEE not what we SAY. So teach your kids positivity, teach them to see the glass half full, teach them to appreciate what they have, and teach them to be kind to themselves and others.

This will make the world a kind and caring place. And that starts from within. Whatever we yearn for we need to integrate it within ourselves. Be the change you want to see. Be the person you yearn for!

ALL I NEED IS WITHIN ME

Did you know that all the healing power and wisdom is within you? Everything is within!

The illusion of “looking outward” is that you feel that every answer must come from the outside. Hence we keep looking to “someone” or “something” for help. The best that anyone can do is to remind us of the treasure within us. The best mentors are those that remind you of your own greatness, of your own richness within.

Reminder to self: All I need is within me

LOVE = ATTENTION

Could you have ever guessed that the definition of love is simply “attention”. Did you know that whatever you ignore will come seeking for attention from the back door….i.e. old pain, hurts, wounds, poor nutrition, exercise, sleep etc… So…yesssss….pay attention. The greatest gift given to you is life itself and with it comes the capacity to pay attention to WHATEVR WE WANT!!. If you pay attention to everyone and everything else you will come back empty handed and disappointed. Pay attention to everything about yourself. Observe. Simply observe. Every ache, every pain, every signal from the body and every signal from the mind and be an excellent self observer.

What are the results of such an observation, you say? Aha….how about trying it for a week and let us know the results…

A simple hint is that when someone pays you a lot of attention, we say they maybe in love with you……

HELPING OTHERS HELPS US

Helping others is an act of the heart and it helps you as much or more than it helps others. So the next time you feel pressured to finish your assignment or read that blog, pause and reconnect to your heart and see if anyone or anything calls for your help. This will nurture your wellbeing more than you can imagine.

TRUST

Have the faith that it will all work out. Trust your higher self. Trust that healing happens from within. Trust your inner power. Listen to it. Follow it.

LESSONS 2020 TAUGHT ME

A huge Thank You to 2020, through all its surprises and challenges, it taught me amazing life lessons which I am utterly grateful for.

Lessons learned this year:

– Don’t make plans, God has HIS own.

– Enjoy this moment, as it is, who knows what the next moment will be. Why worry?

– Take time for yourself, nurture yourself, appreciate yourself, acknowledge yourself

-Take risks, come out of your comfort zone

-Take every opportunity to grow positively and learn something, anything!

-Share your talents with the world, there are so many people who need EXACTLY what you have to offer

-Don’t spend time on other peoples mess, let them clean it up

-Choose happiness, there is no one else who can give it to you

-Meditate daily, it’s your gift to yourself

-Breathe deeply, it’s your connection to spirit within

-Spend time in nature, it’s healing, rejuvenating like nothing else

-Play more, be less serious, whether its puppies or babies or your garden, play! Become one with the play…Its sheer joy

– In the end we all want to be happy, so make sure you design your day for creativity and happiness.

HONOR, RESPECT, LOVE YOURSELF

Have you noticed how many women land up lavishing all their love, care, attention and affection on their boyfriends, partners, spouses, kids or families?

Only too often …to be deeply disappointed that they do not get the respect love and care they needed for themselves. Many of these issues arise from low self worth. This deep inherent unworthiness is never apparent on the surface. By either getting rejected too often in receiving adequate love /respect, one lands up introspecting that something deeply needs healing within us. It is the feeling of not being “enough”… of wanting to fill this inherent insecurity, this inner void, with either a lot of activity, or with collecting a ton of friends, or accumulating “things” or forgetting about it through mindless shopping or finding self worth through marrying someone “worthy”.  And the list is endless. Sooner or later these feelings of unworthiness have to be faced squarely in the eye.

The beginning of awareness is the beginning of healing! Once we are aware that a tiny voice inside feels it is “less”, it puts itself down, criticizes itself, and endlessly looks to attach itself to “someone or something worthy”….. Then the journey to wholeness and freedom has surely begun. Physical healing follows mental healing.

True Inner healing of the deepest kind leads to light joy and freedom. It comes from honoring oneself – inwardly, respecting one’s own needs and feelings and saying yes to our own inherent goodness. All the shoes, bags and dresses in the world can’t make you feel worthy.

KICK BACK, RELAAAAAAX, LET IT ALL GO!!!

In my own healing journey I found that it was as much (or more ) about finding that space within to heal the emotional and mental body , as it was about providing nutrients and filling the deficiencies in the physical body. While the journey is long and steady, it is one of the most empowering things I have done and makes me who I am today, more happy and content than ever before.

BE YOUR BIGGEST CHEERLEADER.

Preserve that special spark, that magic which makes you unique!

As women many of us may look and feel confident but with certain people at work or in our families, we may feel undermined. If you fall into this group, this post is for you!

Trust yourself. Have faith in yourself. Don’t let anyone mistreat you or put you down. Don’t doubt yourself. Watch your inner talk. Make sure you encourage yourself every moment.

Don’t accept substandard behaviour. If you do, you are unconsciously accepting that you deserve poor behavior. Disengage with people who can’t see your spark or put you down.

But for this, first YOU need to see and value the magic within you. the spark, the magic.. that makes you unique! Appreciate this uniqueness. Acknowledge it. Value it. Give it the love and attention it needs. Nurture it. It will make you smile and give you that edge that no one else can have in this world! Fly high! You can achieve absolutely anything!!

TAKE TIME TO APPRECIATE YOURSELF

Acknowledge yourself, appreciate yourself, exactly as you are, right now, right this moment!

Have you noticed how everything in life nowadays is “hurry ! hurry! hurry! “ Whether it’s a project at work or home we all seem to have unknowingly accepted that we need to speed up and get everything done “yesterday”!! Why are we always in a rush? Have you noticed how much we are in a “future” mindset. We rarely if ever “pause”? or appreciate ourselves exactly as we are “in this moment!!” Don’t just appreciate yourself “when” a project gets done or “when” some event in the future happens or “when” you get a raise or x y or z! Society seems to have confused “work” with “life”. While there are goals at work and everything is on a timeline, people seem to live their lives too by timelines and a future oriented mindset.

Yet my best moments of life seem to be when I “paused”. When I Paused in awe of a beautiful sunrise, paused to smell the incredible fragrance of a flower, paused to hug a friend, paused to hear the chirping of birds outside my window, paused to play with a puppy, paused to see the wildflowers on the side of the road, paused to help an old lady cross the road…. paused to see the deep blue sky with orange streaks…. paused to give an honest compliment to someone……….pauses!!! They seem to be so potent! And so enriching.

If you are a driven person, a perfectionist like I have been, it’s even more important to honour yourself by pausing to appreciate yourself – exactly as you are right now, right this moment. Something which is totally more powerful than anything you can imagine ! You are fully enough just as you are! Love yourself. Acknowledge yourself. Celebrate yourself. There will be many moments of victory and many moments of anguish in life, yet this moment right now, right here, tell yourself….you are wonderful just as you are.

FORGIVE YOURSELF

Forgiving someone is helpful for us! In reality it has no bearing on the “other” person or situation. All forgiveness does is to release the burden of “victim hood” that we carry within us releasing us from the pain and feeling of being traumatised by some event person or place. However difficult it is, the sooner we forgive, the lighter we feel!

Something highly undervalued, is forgiving one’s own self! Often in situations our inner talk is about “I should have done this differently” or made a different decision or spoken less or whatever. And we don’t realise how much pressure there is within some of us to be “perfect . In reality there is no perfect person. So let’s “let go” of that insane idea of perfection!!

Once we love ourselves and recognize that we did the best we could under the given situation and if there is any learning, we learn it and just move on! The compassion and understanding we show to ourselves go a long way in soothing our nerves and loving ourselves completely and unconditionally.

Once there is self forgiveness, forgiveness for others will come sooner and sooner. The compassion and understanding we show ourselves, manifests as love and compassion for others faults and inabilities.

All this is easier said than done. Yet the benefits of actually working on this within oneself has a billion benefits. They have to be experienced to be appreciated.

BE A HAPPY POSITIVE PERSON

Who can resist a happy positive person? There is nothing more healing than sitting with such a person and spending some time to feel better.

We all gravitate towards someone who brings light and cheer and an energy that transcends the situation. Here’s to us all bringing joy to ourselves and others!


ARE YOU FEELING GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF?

Generally do you feel positively or negatively about yourself? Are you at peace with your thoughts about yourself or is there a chaos or war happening inside? Do you look at yourself with kindness and compassion or do you judge harshly and always end up feeling unworthy and less? Would you think about others the way you think about yourself?

Love yourself, honor yourself, acknowledge yourself every day, every moment. If you don’t do it, no one will. First you have to acknowledge your own worth before anyone else ever can! This is a key step in healing oneself.

As the wonderful Maya Angelou says: If we don’t have (love, respect. acknowledgement of our own selves ) then we never grow, we never learn, and sure as hell we should never teach!

JUST DO IT!!!

How many of you have trouble starting something new?

Sometimes we find ourselves procrastinating on starting a project, but once we take the first step, the ball gets rolling and before you know it. We are moving smoothly ahead. . Do you relate to this? Are you like that too?

Sometimes it helps to just START!

Usually this happens in the areas of life we may find difficult- like

beginning a new exercise regime

or starting a healthier diet

or organizing a room

or cleaning up the laptop

or deleting those excess pictures

Haven’t we all been in those places in life where we are not too sure of something and we look outside for help? And that is totally natural and fine. Yet we also have been in those places inside us where we had a gut feeling but went against it “listening to outside voices”

SIT SILENTLY…LET IT ALL BE…

Healing happens on so many levels. When all these levels fall into harmony spontaneous healing occurs. We can only facilitate this by silent sitting or meditation. In the last 25 years a lot of discussion on meditation has happened. In reality it is just a method for the mind to be silent. The mind is silent only when it is not resisting “something”. Many of us think “this should not be like that”….or “she should not speak like xyz”….etc… there are forces inside us that propel us to resist or repel life’s experiences.

When we can sit and “let all this BE”… or let everything in our life be exactly as it is. … this moment…with no modifications …meditation happens. It is our natural state. It is effortless.

So in reality all our efforts for meditation are only to remove the obstacles towards meditating. Once these obstacles are removed, either by introspection or wisdom or pain…our natural state comes forefront effortlessly. Healing at the deepest level happens naturally.

So do try to sit silently even if it is for 30 seconds or 60 seconds and see how you feel.

GO PAST YOUR WOUNDS

Who doesn’t have wounds in some way or another? Falling down in life is common, yet those who get up, dust off the past and learn the lessons are truly inspiring. Those who churn the wounds /pain and introspect deeply to glean higher awareness are in a happier and more positive space.

JUST BREATHE

Have you noticed how the quality of your breath affects your moods, your health, and your mind?

Breathe deeply; be conscious of your breath.

Did you know that the word “spirit” originally came from the Latin word meaning “to breathe”

Wow!!! How often we talk of spirit, of prayer, of meditation, yet we forget our simplest and easiest connection to the soul of the universe, is through BREATH!

Become aware of your breath, choose to breathe calmly, choose happiness!

YOU ARE UNIQUE; ONE OF A KIND

You are unique; one of a kind, there will never be another one of you ever again!! Shine, laugh, relax into yourself and just BE! You are the diamond that has its unique shine, its unique lustre, and its unique color. Do not worry about being unlike others. You were never meant to be like ANY other person on this planet. Sing your song, play your tune, clap your drum or do whatever you were meant to uniquely do. Be happy, because there is no other standard to live up to, just your own self shining in the best way you know how. All of us are like flowers in a garden, each flower with its unique fragrance, its unique color and its one and only inimitable shape. DISCIPLINE

Discipline anyone? The power of discipline!

How boring the word discipline sounds!! And yet, all great things in the world were first Inspired by an act of intuition or Grace and then fulfilled or executed by sheer hard work, repetition and good discipline. Whether it’s a new exercise routine, or a new habit of waking up early or becoming positive or reading a book or sitting in nature or changing your diet, discipline is a corner stone for success in that area. In fact great teachers say that Real freedom is attained by excellent discipline! More on this another time, what do you feel? Is discipline necessary? Is it useful?

PAUSE

All great transformation happens during a “pause” when not much is visible on the surface. A seed is sown under the earth and for a while, there appears a “pause”, it appears that not much is happening. But the seed is transforming into a tiny plant with roots going deeper inside the earth to get nutrition. Similarly when a baby is in the womb, a whole new life is forming for 9 months while very little of this miracle shows on the surface. Also every night when we sleep, there is a much needed “pause” for every part of our being to rejuvenate and be ready for the next day. In fact many people who struggle with weight loss are perhaps people who also struggle to sleep well at night. Therefore, while it’s under rated or less appreciated, a pause is actually the most essential remedy for our well-being. So, do pause-today, sit still, reflect, introspect, meditate and honor this energy that throbs within you. It is this pause (which accesses the infinite universe full of every possibility) which will be the catalyst for every miraculous transformation in your life.

YOU MATTER

Many of us think that if we love and take care of others to the best of our ability, it’s enough. This is natural since we are often conditioned by our upbringing and society to take care of all those in our lives (right from our children, spouses, pets, friends, colleagues and the list is endless) Often we do this endlessly for many years and at the end of the day lie down exhausted and tired, having done our best for everyone. Only thing is, we gave our most precious asset, our attention, to everyone, except ourselves!!

What we have to realize is: a rich man can offer everyone only as much treasure as he has himself, no more. In the same way, we can only offer to all those in our lives, the quality and depth of love that we give to ourselves. Let’s bring attention to ourselves: how we talk to ourselves, how we look after ourselves, whom we spend time with, what we direct attention to… etc Observe ourselves: our attitudes, our ability to laugh, how much we celebrate ourselves, how much we pause and acknowledge ourselves…. life is not made meaningful by the pace of movement… it gets more depth and meaning by the pauses we observe.

MIND – FRIEND OR FOE- IT’S UPTO YOU

Your mind is an incredible tool: it can be a great friend or a fiendish enemy. Befriend your mind; make sure you are aware of how it functions. If you look for problems in everything, or why things won’t work, it impacts your cells in one way. If you think of all the ways that things CAN work out, it affects your cells in a different way! Every cell is a universe in itself. A microcosm in a macrocosm. There are many materially rich people in the world who are mentally miserable. There are also others who are mentally abundant and this brings them happiness. So who are you going to be?

Say YES to being both….mentally and materially abundant! How about having an attitude of positivity and a materially abundant mindset too? How about always approaching life with: how can I make this work? Say YES, if this appeals. And let’s consciously approach every moment being aware of our attitude. Say: yes, I can!

IT TAKES COURAGE TO ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

It takes courage to change anything in your life! Whether it’s the food you eat, or giving up old mental thought patterns or starting an exercise program or making the smallest change in your lifestyle: it all takes courage. Let’s acknowledge ourselves for the smallest act of courage we may have taken! It’s not one giant step, but many small steps taken consistently that give success in any endeavour.

Are you still recalling the past? Do you still keep getting plagued by memories of how someone wronged you? Getting hurt by someone’s inconsiderate thoughts words or actions is natural. Yet hanging onto to past wounds and making them a permanent part of our psyche is tremendously harmful to our mental and physical health. The body is an extension of the mind and hence all mental ideas affect our physical structure. Letting go of all that has hurt us is hugely healing for US. The space that is occupied by old inner wounds is emptied once we let these go. This new empty space within us allows the universal healing energy to permeate and heal us at all levels. Letting go is like cleaning a dirty room using a high powered vacuum. Never underestimate the power of the mind in your healing process. Sometimes, it may even be more potent than all the physical changes you make!!

STAY CENTERED

Some of the simplest things in life seem to somehow become more difficult when we lose our center. When we follow our hearts everything appears to becomes simple. We attract good people and positive situations into our lives. We are creative and follow our deepest passion and time flies by and often our hunger is less and life is joyful! If we put attention into our body (instead of outside) we will be more rooted in the present moment and give our cells a chance for more healing. Breathe deeply. Living simply doesn’t mean giving away all our material possessions ( though I have done that!!!, another story for another time!) . Living simply means living without complex’s , projections, negativity, toxicity or hurting others with our words or actions. It means: ignoring the petty mind and. Focusing in the heart. Living kindly and graciously. It means setting boundaries and deleting toxic people from our lives.

When we practise daily, slowly we fall into a rhythm with the cosmos, and become more present in this moment. Cheerfulness is a sign of someone who is in the heart!

MAKE YOUR “MESS” YOUR “MESSAGE”

Who wants a better grander happier life? The fastest way to change our experience of life is to change the way we think about life: the experiences we have, the people we meet or do not meet, the things that happen or do not happen. None of these need to define who we are.

We are much much bigger than the events of our life or the good or bad people we meet. We can create great space around any or all of these things and find that we are much vaster and greater than any of the events of our lives. All the greats in history used the difficulties of their lives as stepping stones to greatness. Make your “mess” your “message” and brighten the world and yourself!

Sadly I notice that many people keep sifting through their past endlessly and unknowingly make themselves a “victim” getting defined by very events or people they want to forget. The more one thinks about the past, the more one draws that energy and the deeper the pain is engraved. Instead of washing away past pain in awareness …one relives events at each session … and gets stuck deeper in the old belief systems that brought those thoughts in the first place.

A beautiful path is to accept and embrace the past as a key factor and move on rapidly.

And to understand that our unconscious beliefs play a role in bringing various people and events into our lives. And as we uncover these old debilitating beliefs we get empowered to change them for more empowering beliefs like:
I am worthy.
I am deserving
I am happy
I love myself
I accept myself
I cherish myself
Its okay to relax.
I am worthy while relaxing.
I honour myself.
I trust myself.
I am safe.
I am capable.
I am priceless.

Who has met people like this or would like to help them. I almost always find that those with chronic illnesses have a host of these to change.

THE SECRET OF HAVING MORE IS TO BE MORE!

Who wants more? More of anything…more love, more health, more wealth, more opportunity, more freedom, more creativity, more growth, more positivity, more peace, more time, more space, more of anything…the list is endless.

The secret of having more is to BE MORE!

ACCEPT YOURSELF UNCONDITIONALLY

Just being ourself is the biggest fear humans have!

This was not a fear that touched me! I am always true, bold, authentic and genuine – or so I thought! 🙂 I am a strong woman. Yet the beauty of life is to unendingly show how many veils are still to be lifted and how many shadows need to be brightly lit. Recently I took some time to sit still for a few days. It helped the dust of the mind to settle and allowed the light to shine brighter and sparkle in more of its brilliance.

“We have learned to live our life trying to satisfy other people’s demands. We have learned to live by other people’s points of view because of the fear of not being accepted and of not being good enough for someone else.

We form an image of what perfection is in order to try to be good enough. We create an image of how we should be in order to be accepted. We especially try to please the ones who love us, like parents and teachers. Trying to be good enough for them, we create an image of perfection, but we don’t fit this image. Because this image is not real. We are never going to be perfect from this fake “ideal” point of view. Never!

Not being perfect, we reject ourselves.

But nobody abuses us more than we abuse ourselves, and it is the Judge, the Victim, and our belief system that do this. People say their husband /wife/mother or father, abused them, but you know that we abuse ourselves much more than them.

The way we judge ourselves is the worst judge that ever existed.

In your whole life nobody has ever abused you more than you have abused yourself.

And the limit of your self-abuse is exactly the limit that you will tolerate from someone else.

If someone abuses you a little more than you abuse yourself, you will probably walk away from that person. But if someone abuses you a little less than you abuse yourself, you will probably stay in the relationship and tolerate it endlessly

Great things always begin from the inside!! Passion counts. It comes from the inside.
Ever wondered why your child loves jewellery passionately even though you never exposed her to it? Ever wondered why your sister is passionate about tennis and plays for hours and hours and grabs every front row seat for a Rafael Nadal match? Ever wondered why your cousin spends every waking hour coming up with healthy recipes? Or why your father loves karaoke or why your mother loves dancing? It’s all an inner drive. An inner passion. Which, if fulfilled makes their eyes shine and their faces glow.

We are each unique. One of a kind. Priceless. Rare. And we each have something unique to offer the world. It is this that makes every cell rejoice. It’s our superpower. Our special unique talent, that no one else has. Absolutely no one. Just like our fingerprints are unique so is our superpower.

If we simply share our authentic selves, then those who resonate with us will find their way to us.

Sit still.
Jog. Paint. Sing. Write. Find what makes you YOU. That special “something” inside yourself that is a gift to share with the world. Sing that song. Dance that dance. Make that recipe. Whatever it is, from within, that makes your eyes light up and shine, do it.

Don’t copy anyone. There is no formula for success.
You “being yourself” Is success!

You are the best at being YOU. Be that priceless piece of art that the universe created.

Sometimes when I start a new exciting project, an unknown fear takes over and I find myself procrastinating ( mind freeze syndrome). Anyone relate to that? Or do you land up questioning why you ever started that project?

That is the time to self soothe or be blessed to have a friend remind you… that what counts is on the inside! Has that happened to you? How did you calm yourself ?

SELF BELIEF…

Never let success get in your head and never let failure debilitate you! What a wonderful thought to live by.

Be the brightest and best version of you. Follow your dream. Stay the course. Believe in yourself. Be grateful for your successes and stay humble. And also Get up after every failure.

Every great venture in the world failed at some time or the other. If you fall down, simply get up, shake the dust off and start all over again. We all need to hear this sometime or the other.

Great lives were not built in the championship field, they were first imagined in someone’s mind.

Sylvester Stallone went with the script of the movie Rocky atleast to a 100 offices. Each time he was rejected because he wanted to act and be the main star of the movie he had written the screenplay for. Nobody wanted to take a chance on him since his height was short for a “typical leading man “ Yet he persisted and refused to believe in that stereotype. He refused to sell the screenplay at any cost, unless HE was cast in the lead role.
Eventually one production house very reluctantly agreed to buy the script AND cast him in the lead at a very nominal price. He agreed. He took a chance on himself and the film became a huge huge blockbuster and the rest is history.

YOU CAN BE ANYTHING… DO ANYTHING

Be the Star that you are meant to be. Give back to yourself. The trust and belief that you deserve. The unconditional love and care that you would give your best friend – give that to yourself!!

Every success stems from you being a success for yourself first – be yourself!

Your health improves as your mindset shifts. Never give up. It’s not the failures it’s the getting up after every fall. Have hope, have faith in yourself.

CHOOSE CONSCIOUSLY…

How often is it that life gives us an opportunity to choose? Actually at every moment life gives us a chance to choose: consciously or unconsciously.

Every moment you are choosing the thoughts you believe in. This creates a belief system. You choose to believe in yourself, in your talents , in your passion, in success, in growth , in positivity, in joy, in kindness, love and Grace. And for those who have stumbled, been sidelined, put down, turned away, fallen sick, told you are not enough, been bullied or simply feel less or an imposter, for YOU to believe in yourself and still take a positive tangible step ahead: THATs courage. You can do it.

And when you feel confused and in the dark and can’t find a way outside the mess…to sit still and ignore the mind and tune in to the silent voice of the heart: THATs courage!

Courage may look like not watching the news, when you have committed to protecting a positive mind-set. Courage may look like not spending hours on consuming content, when you have committed to being creative, or writing that book or poem. Courage may look like …letting go of people or activities that do not support your life positively.
Courage may look like ..saying no to things that don’t serve your higher purpose in life!

Courage can look like many things. Yet the touchstone of courage is … that it always feels like a risk , sometimes a huge risk! Yet once completed, taking the path of courage inevitably reveals a bigger brighter broader grander stronger version of yourself(that you did not even know existed within you!!)

ACKNOWLEDGE YOURSELF

Acknowledge yourself! Acknowledge yourself for how far you have come. Acknowledge yourself for every step you have taken, acknowledge yourself for listening to your gut, for taking a risk, for moving ahead even when the floor looked slippery, even when no one was there to hold your hand.

Acknowledge every tiny step in your journey. Acknowledge each moment, acknowledge your courage, your kindness, your dedication your patience and perseverance. Acknowledge the pauses, the victories, the lessons!

Acknowledge every single thing. When you get used to getting validation from outside, life becomes unknowingly torturous. Your whole mind is centered around getting loved, accepted and validated by others or “someone special”. Then, there is no space left ….to get to know yourself.

Fill your own cup daily. Get to know yourself. Give yourself the acknowledgement you deserve. Don’t be shy. There are no prizes for being lazy in self love. In fact there is much pain. Be courageous. Take risks. Honour yourself when you do. Support yourself. When you give yourself the attention, care, honour and love you deserve, when you become your own biggest fan, life changes in a miraculous way.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVITY

Surround yourself with people who inspire you, motivate you, lift you up and give you energy! Stay away from those who are fearful, inflexible and those who drain your energy. Physical health is intimately related to mental health. Becoming conscious of who we interact with, who our friends are, whom we share energy with and working consciously to keep our circle full of positivity and joy, inspiration and motivation is our first gift to ourselves!

DECIDE MINDFULLY

Be aware of what you focus on and what decision you make! Be mindful!! Every moment whether we “officially” decide or not, we are inadvertently making a decision. An example is: if you want to be healthier but have let yourself go for years, try to start walking every day. Deciding to not walk, is also a decision. Procrastinating is also a decision. So be alert. What am I deciding this moment? Be present in this moment. That will help us make a life changing decision. Choose health. Choose positive action.

Every decision contributes to an outcome in life! Another example, if I want to be healthier I need to opt for nutrient dense foods, wholesome fresh foods, foods that are alive (not from a box or packet) and that are grown locally and cooked and consumed fresh! Each of these steps (whether taken consciously or not) are decisions we are taking!

Each positive decision moves us one step closer to a healthier more vibrant you! It will change the direction of life. Be mindful! Let’s reach for the stars!!

TAKE RISKS

Trust yourself- more! We have more power within us than we know! We have more courage within – than we know of. We have the ability to be stronger, more determined, more persistent, patient, have more perseverance than we can imagine ! We all have the greatest qualities within us. We just have to tap into them!

Sometimes (ha ha, oftentimes), it is only when we are face to face with challenging situations, that we land up calling on these incredible inner reserves..and eventually we realize we have more mettle within us than we could ever guess!! I always find that when I step outside my comfort zone and stretch it or take a risk ..I feel butterflies in my stomach, yet , once the risk is successful, its the greatest feeling in the world. One of the risks I took long ago was to try completely new steps to upgrade my own health and boy was that a fantastic journey! Are you ready to embark on your own health journey now?

LAUGHTER  HEALS

Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain. Wow! A simple thing like a good laugh can clear stress, improve your immunity, create healthy relationships and improve your mood.
The Mayo Clinic says “When it comes to relieving stress, more giggles and guffaws are just what the doctor ordered.”

Take yourself less seriously. Relax. Take a chill pill. Everything will work out. Your health relies heavily on your mind. Laugh and relax the tension. Relax the mind. Soothe those nerves. Be happy.
